Just had initial hands-on time with my new Actros. First impressions: the digital mirror system can take getting used to, but offers good visibility. Engine performance, while sufficient, feels tuned for efficiency rather than power. Inside, it’s spacious-made resting during breaks comfortable. Handling... well, it’s notably better comparing to older models I've driven. Fuel consumption averaged decently during my routes around European highways. For the tech upgrades, mainly cruise control system could do with further refinement. Overall, it meets expectations without jumping over the bar.

Been hauling long runs in an Actros for years now. I run the BigSpace/GigaSpace cabs and they do what they promise: proper separation between the driving area and the bunk, lots of lockers and places to stash stuff. Seats heat and ventilate which helps on crazy weather shifts, and the Multimedia Cockpit with the twin screens actually makes life easier on route. Assist systems - adaptive cruise, lane keep, emergency braking - take a lot of strain off on long night hauls. Fuel use can still be high if you push it, but the economy programs and aero tweaks do help. New trucks are pricey (you know the €110k start), but long maintenance intervals and decent spare part options make the running costs easier to handle over time.

So, been running the Actros 1845 a bit now. The cab is probably the roomiest I've had yet, even with my taller frame there's a lot of headspace and the seats don’t feel cramped. You sit up and get good visibility. Mattress is way better than most, real comfy for actual sleep not just quick naps. Liking the fridge and the storage boxes, keeps my trash from flying everywhere. Multimedia with buttons on the wheel is handy, don’t gotta mess with the panel when driving. Cruise control and lane assist are nice, although I still keep an eye out, bit weird to trust it at first. Fuel tanks are huge which is great, fewer stops for gas, means I can push on the longer hauls. Only thing that gave me a pause is the price, even for a used unit it sits high. I get that it's Mercedes and all but still. Also, the issue with parts being slow to get now, that's not just talk, my buddy's been waiting weeks for something simple. Otherwise, super solid rig.

Actros 1845 review from a working-driver angle: the cab is set up for living, not just driving. Good storage boxes, decent fridge setup, and the bunk is one of the better ones I’ve slept on. You park up and you actually rest.

The infotainment/tablet setup is cool once you get used to it. You can pull up truck status, pressures/temps (when it’s active), see warnings, set a lot of stuff without hunting for buttons. I’m not a tech guy but this one is pretty clear.

Couple small gripes: some trims/accessories feel like you’ll end up buying aftermarket anyway (floor mats, seat covers). And this spec didn’t have adaptive cruise or the fancy LED headlight package, so don’t expect every option unless it’s a higher trim.

The machine is superb, I wouldn't want to change it for any other. What can I say, people have made it for people, and the Germans, in general, make cars that are great for the drivers - everything is maximally comfortable, functional, and very convenient. I have been in long-haul driving for 14 years and I can confidently say that the 2000s cars are legends. On any incline, you press the gas pedal until it clicks, and there is no equal to you. The control system is excellent, and everything in the cabin is top-notch. In short, in my opinion, nothing can surpass a Mercedes-Benz, only another Mercedes.

I have driven this Actros for nearly 500,000 kilometers. The problems mainly arise with the EGR due to the fact that European vehicles are designed for good quality fuel, so make sure to use proper fuel and everything will be fine. Fuel consumption, reliability, driving experience, comfort, and noise insulation are all similar to other trucks. I compared it with Volvo and MAN. Overall, the pulling power of the Mercedes is good, but I can't highlight anything particularly special. This truck is for work, and regular maintenance and care help avoid any serious issues.

Coming from years of handling various trucks, the Actros stands out with its advanced features like camera-based wing mirrors. These provide excellent visibility but require time to adjust to. The engine is powerful and handles heavy loads with ease. On the downside, I think the build quality in certain parts could be slightly better, but generally, it feels sturdy.

We got a 2023 Actros 1845 in company colors, came in with basically delivery mileage. First look: the matte plastic panels actually hold up decent, less looks-like-a-scratch-everywhere compared to glossy stuff.

Practical stuff I noticed: the oil fill neck being lower is a small win. You’re not doing that weird stretch to pour and guess. The side lockers (both sides) are big enough for proper gear, not just gloves and a rag. And the ‘bambak’ box had the usual kit: air hose, tow shackle, keys, extinguisher. At least it’s not missing basics.

Cab comfort is good. Passenger seat is fine, space is there, you can move around, USB ports for phone, and there’s curtains so you can actually rest without light blasting in.

Now the annoying part: depending where you run, parts availability can still bite you. Some people talk like Mercedes parts are always there, but I’ve sat waiting too. Truck itself feels reliable so far, just don’t expect instant repairs every time.
