So, I’ve driven the V220d and V300d recently. The updated front end looks a bit sharper, but doesn’t change much for me in terms of the drive. The thing is big. Like, actually huge. It’s fine for motorway hauls, but in the city it's a lot to squeeze down narrow streets. Road noise is handled pretty well, I’ll give it that, and all the gadgetry keeps folks in the back happy. Still, at this money, the value can be hard to justify-unless you need all those seats and just want something that screams ‘posh people mover’ instead of van. Everything’s pretty reliable, but you’re definitely paying extra for the badge.

One thing that really stands out for me on the V-Class is the A/C setup. There’s two circuits-front and rear-which is great until you realise the rear circuit pipes run under the car, left side. In the kind of winters and roads we get, those pipes are prime targets for corrosion. Happened to me after a few seasons, little leaks, suddenly cooling in the back is weak and my passengers notice right away. Honestly, it’s annoying having to replace tubing pretty often, or you just ride with less efficient cooling. Design could’ve considered our road chemicals a bit more. Other stuff in the cabin is solid for comfort.

I've used the Hiace for a few months as part of my delivery work. The storage space is vast, making it super convenient for transporting large loads. However, the driving experience feels somewhat compromised on longer trips due to the basic comfort level of the seats. That being said, its reliability is top-notch; I haven't encountered any issues despite covering significant mileage weekly.

We’ve had the Vito Tourer on shuttle duty and it’s mostly been a smooth tool for the job. Cabin quality is way nicer than you expect from something that’s basically a people van. Soft-touch bits, decent build, nothing feels flimsy when passengers are constantly in and out.

Practicality is the reason you buy it. Twin sliding doors help in tight drop-off bays. Seats can fold and move around without a full wrestling match, so one minute it’s 8-9 people, next minute it’s luggage and boxes. Optional electric tailgate is one of those things you don’t care about until you’re loading in rain.

I’m a bit mixed on costs though. The purchase price is high and diesel running costs aren’t magically cheap. Still, as a driver, it’s easy to place on the road for the size.

I've put some miles on the Vito Tourer 116 CDI, figured I’d drop some thoughts here. On the motorway, it’s smooth and pulls strong even packed with people, so no worries about keeping up or merging fast. Fuel economy’s actually not bad for a chunk of metal this size, especially with that BlueEfficiency option. Seats don’t swivel or fold flat like I’d want for some trips, and getting them out by hand isn’t easy, especially for one person. Interior’s more van than car, kinda sturdy but don’t expect fancy-fine for hauling work crews but nobody’s gonna think it’s posh. Still, it drives better than I expected from something based on a van. No real drama with maintenance yet, though I guess it could get pricey down the line being a Mercedes.

I have worked with Ford, and in my driving experience, it has been the worst. There have been constant issues with the clutch, suspension, and overall there is a consistent rattling and creaking. And this is on a brand new car from the dealership! The warranty service department was already familiar with me, and if not me, then definitely my Ford.

Had a V250d Sport for about a year, using it mostly for airport runs with luggage and people. Loading up is easy thanks to the sliding doors and the setup of the seats, although if you want to remove the seats, prepare for some heavy lifting because those things are not light at all. The gear changes are smooth and the diesel engine has enough power, no complaints there. Running costs are kinda what you'd expect, definitely not cheap, especially with servicing - Mercedes is pricey for sure. Wish the ride was a bit less bouncy, sometimes gets tiresome on rough roads. But passengers always mention how nice and quiet it is inside, and the leather seats are a hit.

The Renault Trafic is overall great, but the suspension repair turned out to be quite expensive; I had to replace the entire thing.

Just did a couple of airport runs in the new V-Class. Interior feels posh, space is wild, you can actually seat 8 adults and nobody complains. Drives decent for something this big, it’s not a struggle in city traffic. Tech is modern enough, got most of the safety stuff. Still, can't lie, every time I see it from the outside, that van look just never goes away. Feels like they tried to hide it, but you’ll always notice. And the dash looks kind of old-school, which is weird with all the money this thing costs new. Still, passengers love it and nobody complains about comfort. Just a bit too pricey for what it is if you ask me.
